The train, which travels from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) to Shirdi, had a completely female staff. This included the loco pilot, assistant loco pilot, train manager, ticket collectors, and train hostesses. Swapnil Nila, the Chief Public Relations Officer of Central Railways, expressed a commitment to continue supporting women in the railway sector. He mentioned that similar all-women crews would be considered for other Vande Bharat services and that even goods trains featuring women crews were in the works.

Central Railways celebrated this moment on social media, calling it a “proud and historic moment.” They highlighted the strength and leadership of women within the organization. The excitement was palpable as the first all-women crew prepared to depart, making headlines and inspiring many.

In addition to this railway milestone, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also recognized women’s achievements on this special day. He announced on social media that prominent women from various fields would take over his accounts for the day, further celebrating women’s contributions across the board.

The initiatives taken by Central Railways and the Prime Minister show a growing recognition of women’s roles and achievements in society. It marks a step forward in empowering women and acknowledging their hard work and dedication, especially in traditionally male-dominated fields like railways.
