Breaking News: Allen and Vikings Strike a Game-Changing 3-Year, M Deal!

Defensive tackle Jonathan Allen, a two-time Pro Bowler, has signed a three-year contract worth $60 million with the Minnesota Vikings, according to his agent, Blake Baratz.

Previously with the Washington Commanders, Allen was released after the team could not find a trade partner. He was set to enter the last year of his contract with a base salary of $15.5 million but had no guaranteed money left.

In the 2024 season, Allen faced challenges due to a torn left pectoral muscle, which initially seemed serious enough to end his season. However, surgery revealed that the injury was not as bad, allowing him to bounce back.

He managed to play in the final two regular-season games, along with three playoff games, finishing the season with 3 sacks, 3 tackles for loss, and 7 quarterback hits.

During his eight seasons with Washington, Allen was a consistent performer, notching 42 sacks over 108 starts. Before his injury, he had a solid track record, having missed only three games over six years. He made the Pro Bowl following the 2021 and 2022 seasons, totaling 16.5 sacks during those years.

Allen was drafted 17th overall in the 2017 NFL Draft out of Alabama, marking the start of a promising career in professional football.
