The body responsible for naming Iran’s new supreme leader has made a decision, though they haven’t revealed the name yet. Israel has signaled that it will target any new leader picked to replace the recently deceased Ali Khamenei.
Mohsen Heydari, a member of the group making the choice, announced over the weekend that they have selected a candidate supported by most of the Assembly of Experts. Another member, Mohammad Mehdi Mirbagheri, confirmed that the assembly reached a consensus.
