Law enforcement is currently responding to reports of an active shooter at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. Students received an alert around 4:20 PM, warning them to stay hidden and lock doors. The alert specified the threat was near the Barus & Holley building.
Initially, there was a message suggesting a suspect was in custody, but the university later clarified that this was not the case, and the search for suspects continues. As of now, it’s unclear if anyone has been injured. Footage shared by the Brown Daily Herald showed several individuals on the ground near the Sciences Library.
