Breaking News: Trump Declares No Deal with Iran Without ‘Unconditional Surrender’ – Get Live Updates Here!

In the Iranian Kurdish Azadi camp in Northern Iraq, the atmosphere feels heavy. Streets are deserted, and homes are boarded up. A once lively playground now echoes silence instead of laughter.

Recently, it came to light that the CIA has been arming Kurdish groups in Iran as tensions rise. Camps like this one, run by the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran (KDPI), have become frequent targets for Iranian missiles and drones.

Amanj Zibaee, a KDPI leader, points to the damage left by Iranian attacks near their medical facility. “There are no military forces here, just civilians,” he notes, indicating the constant threat they face. “We only have some fighters to ensure safety.”

Zibaee mentions that attacks have been more frequent and powerful recently. The KDPI is used to this hostility, but the intensity has increased, marking a worrying trend.

This KDPI is part of a coalition of six Kurdish groups in Iraqi Kurdistan. They recently united as tensions escalated between the U.S. and Iran. They seek better rights and autonomy but worry they lack sufficient support from U.S. leadership.

Mustafa Mawlwdi, the deputy secretary-general, points out, “Trump has said he would support us, but we need more than words. Action is required.”

Meanwhile, Iran has threatened to target the Kurdistan Region of Iraq if the Kurdish fighters cross the border. This situation leaves the Iraqi Kurdish Regional Government anxious about potential retaliation.

Even after the interview, Iranian missiles and drones were fired at the camp again, showing Tehran’s determination to act on its threats.

According to a recent study by the International Crisis Group, nearly 70% of Kurdish civilians in the region feel unsafe due to these tensions, highlighting the humanitarian impact of these military actions.

In a social media climate where Kurdish voices have been gaining traction, users express solidarity and concern over the increasing violence. The situation remains dynamic, and the Kurdish communities continue to seek support and safety.

The plight of the Iranian Kurds is a reminder of the complex and often dangerous geopolitics of the region, where every action has far-reaching consequences. As both local and international dynamics shift, the future remains uncertain for these communities.
