GAME STRATEGY

This weekend marks the Bears’ first meeting with Youngstown State since 2007, where Brown leads the all-time series 2-1. Brown and Winthrop have faced each other three times before, with Winthrop winning every meeting, the last one in 2016.

RETURNING STRENGTH

The Bears return their strongest hitters. Last year, Jasmine Hsiao led the team with a .352 batting average, totaling 43 hits and 12 doubles. Following her were Lily Berlinger at .329 and Laurel Moody at .299. Additionally, four other players return after hitting over .200 last season.

PITCHING POWER

On the mound, senior Alexis Guevara is back as the team’s leader. She pitched 142.1 innings last year, striking out 98 batters, with a solid 2.46 ERA, completing 18 games and achieving one shutout. Macy Borowski is the only other returning pitcher, with 91.2 innings and a 4.05 ERA.

ROAD WARRIORS

Brown has a busy schedule ahead, hitting the road for the first 13 games before their home opener against Stonehill on March 19. They will begin Ivy League play at home against Dartmouth on March 22-23.
