According to Dhami, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance, India has seen remarkable changes in education, innovation, and skill development. These transformations are essential for realizing the goal of a developed India. The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 is a key element of this vision. It revives India’s educational legacy by promoting holistic development, creativity, and practical skills among students.
Dhami noted that higher education institutions should not just focus on teaching but also serve as centers of research and innovation. This shift is crucial, especially as India evolves into a global player in fields like technology and healthcare. Recent data shows that India ranks among the top countries in the Global Startup Ecosystem, signifying its growth as a startup hub.
He highlighted Uttarakhand’s rich history as a center for education and spirituality and stressed ongoing efforts to enhance digital learning. The state government is working to set up smart classrooms and digital libraries while introducing modern subjects, such as Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, into the curriculum. Initiatives like the Centre for Hindu Studies at Doon University aim to deepen the study of India’s traditional knowledge.
In today’s fast-paced world, equipping young people with skills for the future is essential. The state is fostering partnerships between educational institutions and industries, providing internships, and creating incubators to inspire innovation among students.
