Saturday night was exciting for CAA basketball, with all five home teams winning their league games.

Campbell 75, Hofstra 52

Colby Duggan and Nolan Dorsey each scored 15 points in Campbell’s solid 75-52 win over Hofstra. This victory marked their fifth straight win in the conference, a first since they joined the CAA. It’s also their best run since January 2021.

Campbell jumped ahead early, leading 21-9. They ended the first half strong, going on a 19-2 run to lead 43-20 at halftime. They finished with 13 three-pointers and shot 50.9% overall. Hofstra, despite a late 12-0 run, fell short, with Cruz Davis, Jean Aranguren, and Silas Sunday scoring 10 points each.

Monmouth 92, Delaware 83

Madison Durr and Abdi Bashir Jr. shined for Monmouth, each scoring 25 points. Durr made all 14 of his free throws, stretching his streak to 33 makes. Monmouth faced tough competition from Delaware, who took a brief lead right before halftime. However, Monmouth regained control and secured the win with a strong finish, outscoring Delaware 19-10 in the last minutes.

Hampton 80, Howard 79

In a thrilling overtime matchup, Hampton edged Howard 80-79. Wayne Bristol Jr. made a dramatic game-tying 3-pointer and then completed a four-point play. George Beale Jr. scored 28 points, leading his team. Howard had an early lead, but Hampton fought back to secure the victory.

Towson 55, Drexel 54

Towson clinched a narrow 55-54 win over Drexel. Tyler Tejada led Towson with 20 points. Drexel started strong but Towson mounted a comeback, taking the lead at halftime. The second half saw back-and-forth play, but Towson managed to hold on for the close win as Drexel’s late shot was ruled too late.

Elon 71, Northeastern 60

Elon defeated Northeastern 71-60. Nick Dorn was crucial with 19 points, while Matthew Van Komen contributed with a double-double. After a back-and-forth start, Elon surged ahead, establishing a lead they maintained throughout the second half.

UNCW 80, Stony Brook 70

UNCW continued their winning streak, overcoming Stony Brook 80-70. Donovan Newby led with 20 points, as UNCW scored over 80 points for the sixth consecutive game. After a close start, UNCW took control and didn’t look back, despite a strong effort from Stony Brook’s CJ Luster, who scored a career-high 27 points.
