Cameron Diaz is back in the spotlight with her new Netflix movie, “Back In Action,” co-starring Jamie Foxx. This marks her first film in a decade.
During her recent visit to “The Graham Norton Show,” she revealed that Jamie Foxx played a big role in her decision to return to acting.
Diaz said, “I had 10 years of not paying attention to anything. Not accepting any advances, and then I got this script and thought that maybe it was time.”
She spoke highly of Foxx, expressing, “If I was going to leave my family for 10 hours a day, I wanted to do it with the most talented man in the entertainment business.”
Diaz and Foxx share a long history, having worked together in “Any Given Sunday” in 1999 and “Annie” in 2014.
Although she stepped back from acting, Diaz has been busy. She is not only a mother but also works as an author and businesswoman. She and her husband, musician Benji Madden, have two children.
Reflecting on her decade away from movies, she said, “I loved those 10 years for me and my family. But I thought, ‘If I let this go away, if I don’t engage again, I am a fool.’”
Diaz feels thankful for her return to filmmaking. She shared, “It is a privilege to make films, and we are all so lucky to do what we do. That the door was even open for me after a decade was amazing.”
