Cameron Diaz is making a return to acting after taking a decade off. She seems excited to jump back into the film world.
In a chat with “Access Hollywood,” she discussed her new Netflix movie, “Back In Action,” where she stars alongside Jamie Foxx. During the interview, she mentioned the possibility of a sequel to the classic film “The Mask.”
Diaz became famous for her role in the 1994 film, where she starred opposite Jim Carrey. She said she would be interested in reprising her role if Carrey was on board. “If Jim’s on board,” she stated, “I mean, I’ve been riding those coattails from day one.”
In “The Mask,” Diaz played Tina Carlyle, a nightclub singer, while Carrey’s character, Stanley Ipkis, discovers a magical mask that transforms him into a zany superhero.
Carrey himself has hinted at the idea of returning for a sequel. He shared that he’d be interested, but only if the concept was right. “It’s not really about the money,” he said, emphasizing the importance of a good idea and the right team.
Diaz also expressed her interest in revisiting another one of her iconic roles from “Charlie’s Angels,” which featured Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu. She joked that she might text Lucy Liu to suggest Jamie Foxx as a potential Bosley, a character in the series.
“Back In Action” is now available for streaming on Netflix, marking a new chapter for Diaz in the film industry.
