LOGAN, Utah — Capriel Winder, a freshman defender for the Utah State soccer team, has been selected for the U.S. U-20 Women’s National Team. She’ll attend a training camp preparing for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
This camp runs from October 22-30 at the University of Kansas Health System Training Center, where the NWSL Champions, Kansas City Current, practice. Notably, from October 27-29, the U-20 team will be in Kansas City while the senior USWNT plays New Zealand on October 29.
Winder hails from North Logan, Utah. She’s making a strong impact in her first season, starting all 16 matches for a stout defense that has allowed only 0.81 goals per game. This performance is on track to be one of the best in the program’s history, with the team securing seven shutouts and limiting rivals to just 2.8 shots on goal per game.
This camp marks the debut for Vicky Jepson as the new head coach of the U-20 team. Jepson previously worked with Tottenham Hotspur and brings a wealth of experience to her new role.
Looking ahead, the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup is set for September 5-27 in Poland. The USA has already qualified alongside 11 other nations after successful play in the 2025 Concacaf Women’s U-20 Championship.
