Dominance of Ne Zha 2
Ne Zha 2 stood strong at the top of the global box office, earning $279.6 million from four territories. Its total is now an impressive $1.64 billion. The film opened in North America, pulling in about $7.2 million from 660 theaters. It’s expected to reach $8.3 million after the holiday weekend.
Captain America: Brave New World Makes Waves
Disney’s latest offering, Captain America: Brave New World, debuted strongly, earning $180.9 million globally from 53 territories. Of that, $92.4 million came from international markets, and $88.5 million from North America.
This film has made history as the biggest domestic opening of 2025. It also exceeded international earnings compared to the previous Captain America film, Winter Soldier, by 4%, based on similar markets. This is the first time Anthony Mackie has taken on the lead role as Captain America.
Bridget Jones Returns
Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy also performed well, earning an estimated $32.8 million across 73 territories. This marks the largest opening weekend for the franchise. It is currently at $34.3 million in total earnings.
Renée Zellweger reprises her role as Bridget, now navigating life as a single mom. This film has dominated the charts in the UK and had notable openings in other markets as well.
Paddington In Peru Finds Its Audience
Paddington In Peru climbed to fifth place with $20.3 million from 54 markets, including $13 million from its North American debut. This outing did even better than Paddington 2‘s opening back in 2018.
Local Flavors Shine
Indian film Chhaava opened strongly in sixth place with $19.1 million, making a mark in 21 territories. The French comedy God Save The Tuche took the tenth spot with over $5 million from two territories.
