1A/11A: Starting with a fun clue: [Where one might have a mic and a Michelob] leads to KARAOKE BAR. I thought of other spots, but this seemed the best fit. Then there’s the clue [Edgar Degas’s “Miss ____ at the Cirque Fernando”], referencing an aerialist painting from 1879. It added a layer of art history to the puzzle.

47A: The clue [Participant in a hybrid sport that requires both brains and brawn] answers to CHESSBOXER. This is a fascinating sport mixing chess and boxing, with a history that dates back to 1970s London. A recent article notes its revival, especially among streamers and influencers. Want to know more? 56A: The clue [Where camels can occasionally be seen swimming] leads to the ARABIAN SEA. Interestingly, these camels are from Gujarat, India, and they swim to munch on mangroves. It’s a striking image that shows nature’s surprises.

60A: This clue caught me off guard. [What the “T” in CAPTCHA stands for] turns out to be TURING—referring to the famous mathematician Alan Turing. CAPTCHA stands for "Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart." It’s a clever nod to tech history!
