Cardinals Surge to Victory Over Cal: A Thrilling 85-68 Win!

Terrence Edwards had an incredible night, scoring 35 points as Louisville defeated California 85-68. This performance marks a new career high for Edwards, who has recently transferred from James Madison.

His backcourt partner, Chucky Hepburn, had also made headlines just four days earlier by scoring 37 points in a win against Pittsburgh. However, he finished this game with 16 points, seven rebounds, and five assists.

This victory improved Louisville’s record to 17-2 in the ACC, setting a new program record for most wins in a season. The Cardinals are looking to finish their regular season strong against Stanford on Saturday.

Louisville maintained control throughout the game, even with California grabbing 20 offensive rebounds and attempting 71 shots. The Bears struggled with their shooting, making only 21 attempts, which is about 29.8 percent.

Not all news was positive for Louisville. Reyne Smith, a starting guard, left the game in the first half due to a lower body injury. Although he returned to the bench, he did not play again after halftime.

In addition to Edwards and Hepburn, J’Vonne Hadley contributed with 16 points and eight rebounds. Noah Waterman also made a difference off the bench, scoring six points and collecting six rebounds while playing solid defense.

While the game had its rough moments, Louisville’s performance ultimately stood out. Fans are hopeful for Smith’s quick recovery as they look forward to a big farewell game at Yum Center.
