In 2025, the Colts started off strong, holding an 8-2 record and boasting the NFL’s best offense. But things took a downward turn when they lost their starting quarterback and several key players, resulting in a disappointing seven-game losing streak to close the season. Still, Irsay-Gordon decided to keep general manager Chris Ballard and head coach Shane Steichen for another season. She stressed the importance of improvement, saying they need to address the issues that caused their late-season collapse.
“We’ve made it clear that they need to perform at the highest level,” she stated. The Colts need to handle adversity better, as injuries alone can’t excuse their struggles. Irsay-Gordon remarked, “Injuries are never an excuse in this league.”
Despite the ending, there was reason for optimism. The Colts had a strong point differential of +54 for the season, which even matched that of playoff teams. Quarterback Daniel Jones showed impressive numbers, finishing the year with a completion percentage of 68% and a passer rating of 100.2.
Irsay-Gordon highlighted the progress made in the first half of the season. “It gives us hope for the future,” she said. Ballard’s approach to team-building was more aggressive, with significant free agent signings and a strategic trade for top talent.
