RALEIGH, N.C. – The Carolina Hurricanes have locked in forward Mark Jankowski with a two-year contract extension. The new deal is worth an average of $1.85 million annually, extending through the 2027-28 season.

Jankowski, 31, had a solid season with 21 points (11 goals, 10 assists) and a +7 rating in 68 games during the regular season. He also contributed an assist in eight playoff games this year. Hailing from Hamilton, Ontario, he has played 482 NHL games, scoring 145 points (79 goals, 66 assists) for teams like the Flames, Penguins, Sabres, Predators, and now the Hurricanes. Before going pro, he achieved success at Providence College, winning an NCAA championship with the Friars in 2015.
A fun fact: Jankowski was picked in the first round of the 2012 NHL Draft, 21st overall by the Calgary Flames. The Hurricanes acquired him from Nashville for a fifth-round pick in 2026.
