Linebacker Abdul Carter is setting the record straight about quarterback Jaxson Dart after speculation about Dart’s political views affecting team unity. Dart, who is in his second year with the New York Giants, recently introduced former President Donald Trump at a pep rally in Suffern, New York, supporting Congressman Mike Lawler.
At the event, Dart energized the crowd by leading a chant for the Giants: “Go Big Blue!” He expressed gratitude for the chance to introduce Trump, emphasizing his honor in doing so.
Carter took to social media on Saturday to address the situation, questioning the narrative floating around. He later clarified, “Me and JD6 are good! We spoke earlier as men,” reassuring fans that their relationship is solid.
Wide receiver Darius Slayton also defended Dart, countering rumors about a racist comment Dart supposedly made. Offensive lineman Jermaine Eluemunor dismissed claims that Dart’s views were creating rifts in the locker room, stating, “Locker Room is fine. Focus on New England.”
The Giants just wrapped up their first three voluntary organized team activities, and the atmosphere appears stable. Dart, 23, had a rocky start last season, finishing with a 4-8 record as a starter, but he impressed with 15 touchdown throws and nine rushing touchdowns—the second most for a rookie QB in the modern era.
Carter, picked third overall from Penn State, contributed significantly with 43 tackles and four sacks in his rookie season. Both players are expected to be key figures for the Giants in the years ahead.
