Twenty gas stations are vying for the title of best gas station food in the 2025 USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards. A group of experienced travelers has handpicked their favorite stops, and now it’s time for you to weigh in. Which gas station do you turn to when hunger strikes on the road?

Voting is open until noon Eastern Daylight Time on May 5. You can vote daily, and the top ten stations will be revealed on May 14.
Gas stations have evolved beyond quick snack stops. Many now serve fantastic meals—from fried chicken to fresh salads. In fact, a report from the National Association of Convenience Stores highlights that more travelers are choosing gas stations for quality food options. This change is partly because road trips have surged since the pandemic. A recent survey found that 87% of travelers plan their trips around food stops, with convenience store meals often ranking among their favorites.
Last year’s winner, Royal Farms from Baltimore, set the bar high, but this year’s nominees include:
- 7-Eleven, Irving, Texas
- Allsup’s/Yesway, Fort Worth, Texas
- Buc-ee’s, Lake Jackson, Texas
- Casey’s, Ankeny, Iowa
- Cumberland Farms, Westborough, Massachusetts
- Kwik Trip, La Crosse, Wisconsin
- QuikTrip, Tulsa, Oklahoma
- Wawa, Wawa, Pennsylvania
These nominees highlight how diverse and appealing gas station food can be. Some stations like Buc-ee’s have even been dubbed as “road trip destinations” due to their large food selections and inviting atmospheres.
With consumers prioritizing quality and convenience, the landscape of fast food has changed dramatically. Today, a well-chosen gas station can rival a casual restaurant. As the voting continues, it’s clear that gas station food is more than an afterthought—it’s becoming part of the journey itself.
