The Marist water polo team is heading to Arizona for the ASU Invitational this weekend. They’ll play four matches—two on Saturday and two on Sunday.
Saturday’s Matches:
- University of the Pacific: The Red Foxes will kick things off against the Tigers at 3:45 PM. Pacific has a 1-1 record this season, winning against Fresno Pacific but losing to #4 ranked Cal.
- Arizona State University (ASU): Later that day, at 7:30 PM, Marist will face ASU. The Sun Devils are strong this season with an 8-1 record, having recently excelled in two separate invitationals.
Sunday’s Matches:
- Fresno State: The Red Foxes will meet the Bulldogs at 12:30 PM. Fresno State holds a 5-3 record so far, performing well at their previous invitationals.
- San Diego State University: Finally, they will play the Aztecs at 4:15 PM. SDSU has a 5-4 record and has had a series of challenging matches lately.
Recently, Marist played against Brown and Princeton, ending with one win and one loss. Paige Naegle stood out in the victory over Brown, scoring four goals, while Lela McCarroll led the team against Princeton with three goals.
