The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) carried out surprise inspections at 29 schools across six areas on December 18 and 19, 2024, as a part of its dedication to sustaining excessive instructional requirements. The inspections occurred in Delhi on December 18, and in Bengaluru, Patna, Bilaspur, Varanasi, and Ahmedabad on December 19, 2024.
The major intention of those inspections was to evaluate compliance with CBSE’s norms and Affiliation By-Laws. The inspection groups centered on verifying scholar enrollment information, infrastructure amenities, and the general functioning of the schools.
A complete of 29 groups, every comprising a CBSE officer and a principal from an affiliated college, carried out these inspections. The inspections had been carried out in a coordinated method inside a restricted time-frame to take care of the ingredient of surprise and guarantee correct findings.
Findings from the Inspections
The inspections revealed {that a} majority of the schools violated CBSE’s Affiliation By-Laws by enrolling college students who weren’t truly attending lessons, successfully creating “non-attending” enrolments.
