By Sara Atencio-Gonzales, The Paper.– Get ready for a day full of flavors! The 11th Annual Great New Mexico Food Truck and Craft Beverage Festival is happening on April 18 at Balloon Fiesta Park in Albuquerque. This popular spring event is back and promises a treat for food lovers and families alike.
Anthony Pepe, owner of Food Truck Festivals of America, shares that Albuquerque is a shining star for this festival. “This is one of our best and biggest events,” he says. With more than 25 food trucks lined up, attendees can enjoy everything from barbecue and tacos to Asian fusion and delectable desserts. Some vendors, like Kimo’s Hawaiian Barbecue, have been fan favorites since the start. “Their food is fantastic,” Pepe adds.
The atmosphere is vibrant. There will be live music, activities for kids like face painting, and a bustling artisan market showcasing handmade crafts and specialty items. “We have over 50 vendors at the market, from candles to clothing,” Pepe highlights. This blend of food and entertainment creates a festival experience that’s hard to beat.
Albuquerque’s stunning backdrop enhances the event. With mountains framing the view, it feels like stepping into a postcard. It’s not just about the variety of food trucks; the quality matters too. Pepe notes, “These are personal chefs. This isn’t just fast food.” Each dish is crafted with care, showcasing culinary talent.
Attendees can also sip on local craft beverages. Breweries like Steel Bender and Boxing Bear will be present, offering a taste of New Mexico’s best brews. Imagine enjoying a cold drink while relaxing on a blanket with friends and family. Sounds inviting, right?
The festival is affordable too! Tickets are $5 in advance and $10 at the gate, with free admission for kids 10 and under, plus active military and veterans. Pepe encourages everyone to load up the car with family and friends; it’s an event that welcomes all.
This year’s festival runs from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. with VIP early entry beginning at 11 a.m. Don’t miss out on this community celebration! For tickets and more details, visit the Food Truck Festivals of America website.
