New Delhi hosted the Eco Warrior Awards 2025 and the Eco Warrior Conclave, celebrating environmental efforts in India. Organized by Indian Masterminds and the Indian Forest Service (IFS) Association, this event highlighted both remarkable individuals and innovative projects shaping the country’s ecological future.
The evening featured Mr. Bharat Lal, Secretary General of the National Human Rights Commission, as the Chief Guest. The event began with a tribute to National Forest Martyrs’ Day, honoring those who gave their lives for nature’s protection.
Although Union Minister Mr. Bhupender Yadav couldn’t attend in person, he shared a video message. He praised the tireless work of forest officers, stressing the importance of balancing ecology and economy. His words focus on the idea that true growth comes from environmental preservation, underscoring the significance of the awards in recognizing these efforts.
Ms. Monalisa Das, Secretary General of the IFS Association, emphasized India’s strides in forest conservation during her keynote address. Panel discussions explored topics like eco-tourism and collective environmental awareness, shedding light on how tourism can support community conservation and turn knowledge into action. A wildlife photography exhibit by Mohd Aslam Warisi added a creative touch to the evening.
The Eco Warrior Awards recognized outstanding contributions in various categories. Dr. H.S. Singh received the Lifetime Achievement Award, while other notable winners included:
- IFS Officer Sonali Ghosh – Wildlife Conservation Award
- IFS Officer Parveen Kaswan – Wildlife Protection Award
- IFS Officer Irfan Rasool Wani – Forest Protection Award
- IFS Officer K.M. Abharna – Community Connect Award
- IFS Officer Dr. S.K. Srivastava – Best Use of Technology Award
Innovative projects like Project Cheetah and “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” were also recognized, highlighting impactful initiatives in conservation. The event celebrated corporate contributions from companies like GAIL and Indian Oil for their sustainability efforts.
The Eco Warrior Awards not only acknowledge achievements in conservation but also inspire others to get involved. During the event, participants engaged in discussions and shared insights on the importance of long-term environmental responsibility.
