EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) — The Mexican American Cultural Center (MACC) will officially open on Saturday, March 22, 2025. This long-awaited space is designed to celebrate and preserve the rich history and contributions of the Mexican American community.
Located at 201 West Franklin Avenue, the center’s construction is backed by $16 million from the 2012 Quality-of-Life Bond approved by voters. Visitors can look forward to a variety of features, including an auditorium, a black box theater, a dance studio, a teaching kitchen, classrooms, and exhibition spaces. There’s also a rooftop event area for gatherings and performances.
El Paso Mayor Renard Johnson emphasized the importance of the MACC, saying, “This is more than just a building—it’s a transformative space that honors our culture. The MACC will be a cultural landmark, uniting our community in celebration of our diversity.”
