The holiday season is kicking off at the Commons Food Hall and Bar this week with the first-ever SantaCon Bar Crawl on Friday. Get ready for some festive fun and a chance to give back to the community.
SantaCon will start with a food and toy drive from 3 to 7:30 p.m., featuring live music from local artist Colin Boyle and DJs RG3 & Patty Cakes later in the evening. This event not only celebrates the holidays but also helps families in need. The collected toys and food donations will go to local charities like Bit of Sunshine and LiftUp of Routt County.
Event organizer Keys said, “We thought this would be fun, something different for Steamboat Springs. But we also want to give back to the community.”
What’s Happening
The bar crawl is based at the Commons Food Hall at 56 Seventh St., supported by Mythology Distillery. When you buy a Mythology drink at any participating venue, you’ll get a raffle ticket for a chance to win a prize, announced on Saturday via Mythology’s Instagram.
Bring a new, unwrapped toy or a food donation valued at $5 or more, and you’ll receive a wristband. This wristband grants you access to special deals at all participating locations when the crawl kicks off at 7:30 p.m. You’ll even get a map to help you choose your route!
Participating venues include The Barley, Back Door Grill, O’Neil’s Tavern & Grill, and more. Keys hopes that this event will become a cherished holiday tradition in the Yampa Valley.
Expanded Hours and Brunch
In addition to SantaCon, the Commons Food Hall is now open until midnight on Thursdays through Saturdays. You can enjoy late-night food from La Cocina and Mr. Burger while sipping drinks from the bar. Plus, Sundays now offer a special brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with bottomless mimosas and delicious brunch options from vendor kitchens.
More Holiday Fun
On Saturday, The Barley Tap and Tavern hosts its seventh annual ski season kickoff party called “Hanging with Jerry.” From 6 to 10 p.m., enjoy prizes for costumes and drawings for exciting giveaways like snowboards and helicopter rides. Proceeds from this event will support Routt County Search and Rescue.
In a survey by Eventbrite, 78% of people said they enjoy participating in local festivals and events. Community gatherings like these foster a sense of belonging and joy during the holiday season.
So, gather your friends, put on your best festive outfit—whether that’s an ugly sweater or something elf-inspired—and join the fun. The SantaCon Bar Crawl is not just about celebrating; it’s about making a difference in the community.
