On December 16, Vanderbilt University celebrated its annual Turkey Toss, showing appreciation for over 2,000 staff, faculty, and postdoctoral scholars. This event took place around Carmichael College and lasted for 12 hours, filled with fun activities and delicious snacks.
Chancellor Daniel Diermeier joined in to hand out turkeys, including halal and vegetarian options. Participants enjoyed a variety of attractions, like an outdoor s’mores station, crafts, and photo opportunities. Attendees also received branded gifts, including insulated bags and themed scarves.
More than 80 staff members volunteered to make the event successful. Any leftover turkeys were donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank, demonstrating the university’s commitment to giving back to the community.
