Recently, The University of Scranton celebrated its top students for their outstanding academic achievements. The Frank O’Hara Awards, named after a dedicated administrator who contributed for 53 years, were presented during a ceremony at the Weinberg Memorial Library on December 3.
Kania School of Management
Hailey Poskonka from Dover, New Jersey, won the O’Hara Award for her freshman year. She’s double majoring in accounting and business analytics while also playing for the university’s softball team. Hailey is actively involved in various campus organizations, including the Society of Accounting Students and the NCAA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
Jessieca Aguasin from Honesdale received the award for her sophomore year. Currently, a junior and accounting major, Jessieca is part of both the Frank P. Corcione Business Honors Program and the Robert L. McKeage Business Leadership Program. She also enjoys the benefits of the University’s full-tuition Presidential Scholarship.
Dean Finan from Malvern, also a senior, earned the O’Hara Award for his junior year. He is pursuing finance and business analytics, and he’s an integral part of the university’s men’s soccer team and its leadership council.
College of Arts and Sciences
Molly Grove from Mountain Top was awarded for her freshman year. She’s pursuing a triple major in history, political science, and philosophy. Molly is involved in the Special Jesuit Liberal Arts Program, and she volunteers at animal shelters and contributes to the university’s literary magazine.
Alexandra Beltre from Bloomfield, New Jersey, won for her sophomore year. Major in environmental science, Alexandria is involved in several campus activities, including the gaming club and pre-vet club.
Sheila Miller from Milford received the award for her junior year. Working toward a double major in journalism and electronic media, Sheila is active in multiple campus organizations and serves as a staff writer for The Aquinas newspaper.
Leahy College of Health Sciences
Nicole Schulingkamp from Harleysville earned the O’Hara Award for her freshman year, pursuing a degree in occupational therapy. She’s part of the women’s soccer team and provides anatomy tutoring.
Olivia Gallione from Hewitt won for her sophomore year. Currently a junior in occupational therapy, she’s actively involved in the Student Occupational Therapy Association and contributes her time to various volunteer activities.
Claudia Campisciano from Broomall received the award for her junior year. She’s majoring in kinesiology and is also a peer health educator. Her involvement in campus life reflects a commitment to service and student engagement.
