Celebrating Community Impact: Andalusia Health Services Grants Support 10 Local Nonprofits – Discover the Winners!

Andalusia Health Services recently made a meaningful contribution of $50,000 to ten local non-profits. This generous donation supports organizations like the Andalusia Lions Club, Bethesda House, and the Easter Seals Camp ASCCA.

Phillip Jones, the Board President, expressed pride in continuing the work of the foundation’s founders. “For the fiscal year ending June 30, we’ll contribute $150,500 to educational institutions for Covington County students interested in medical careers,” he said.

This private foundation focuses on providing grants and scholarships to those pursuing health services careers. Its funding comes from investments related to the sale of Andalusia Hospital back in 1980.

A quick look at the board shows a dedicated team: Phillip Jones (President), Charles Roland (Vice President), and Carolyn M. Graham (Secretary/Treasurer), along with several other members. There are also committees focused on scholarships, finance, and nominations to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Jones noted that the total contributions for health-related scholarships and charitable organizations will reach $200,500. This demonstrates a strong commitment to community health and education.

According to a recent study, about 24% of Americans are actively seeking careers in healthcare, highlighting an increasing interest in professions that support community health. Organizations like Andalusia Health Services play a key role in guiding and funding these future leaders.

Whether through scholarships or community support, Andalusia Health Services is making a lasting impact in Covington County, showing that local efforts can truly make a difference.
