Fyre, who has been teaching for 19 years, has been the school’s science teacher since 2021. Her passion for education and her innovative teaching methods have inspired both students and staff. Principal Scott Strenge praised her ability to engage students and maintain high teaching standards.

In her classroom, Fyre teaches six different science courses and emphasizes real-world applications. One highlight was a lesson in collaboration with NASA, where students worked on projects similar to those conducted by actual NASA scientists. Fyre noted how rewarding it was to see her students apply their chemistry knowledge to meet state standards.

During the celebration honoring her, Fyre felt overwhelmed with gratitude. Students showed their appreciation with cheers and hugs. “All teachers do this for the kids,” she shared, holding back tears. “When they express their love, it makes all the hard work worth it.”

Fyre hopes her recognition will remind people of the importance of celebrating teachers everywhere. “There are so many great teachers in schools across the country who deserve recognition for their daily efforts,” she added.

Her award includes a $10,000 prize and an invitation to the White House. The school plans to organize a special send-off for her as she prepares for this exciting trip.
