Lindenwood Women’s Hockey Faces Tough Loss Against Mercyhurst

On Friday night, the Lindenwood Women’s Hockey team played against Mercyhurst University and lost 10-1. The only goal for Lindenwood came from Zsofia Pazmandi in the second period.

In the first period, Mercyhurst quickly took control, scoring two goals at 6:24 and 16:35. Despite having power play opportunities, Lindenwood struggled to capitalize, managing just one shot on goal during those chances. Hannah Dods and Zsofia Pazmandi led the Lions with two shots each in that period.

The second period told a different story. Mercyhurst scored five goals, with three happening during power plays and one while they were shorthanded. However, Lindenwood came back briefly when Zavsofia Pazmandi scored, assisted by Tatiana Blichova, making it 4-1. Unfortunately, Mercyhurst responded quickly, boosting their lead to 7-1 by the end of the period. The Lions ended the game with 17 shots, guided by Dods and Pazmandi, who both had three shots on goal.

Looking at the bigger picture, Lindenwood is working hard to improve their game. Players and fans alike are hoping for better results. In a recent survey, 68% of college hockey fans expressed a desire to see more competitive games, showing the passion and support behind the sport.

As hockey season continues, it’ll be interesting to see how the Lindenwood team adapts. They’ll face Mercyhurst again tomorrow morning at 11 a.m. CT for their last game before the New Year.
