Chandigarh University Pioneers IndiaAI Data Lab with Intel India: A Game-Changer for Private Higher Education!

Chandigarh University has made a significant move to boost student employability by launching the IndiaAI Data Lab in collaboration with Intel India. This lab aims to equip students with essential skills in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Science, and other emerging technologies.

The IndiaAI Data Lab will serve as a learning hub for students in computing and computer science engineering. It offers a space for hands-on projects, hackathons, and collaboration between students and industry experts. This initiative also aligns with the growing demand for AI skills in today’s job market.

Shweta Khurana from Intel emphasized the importance of this program, stating it helps bridge the gap between education and the needs of businesses. Students will gain real-world experience, which is crucial as companies increasingly seek talent skilled in AI and data analytics.

This partnership has deep roots, as it reflects nearly three years of planning between Chandigarh University and Intel. The university’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. (Dr) Raviraja N Seetharam, highlighted that the lab is the first of its kind at a private university in India. He noted that engaging, project-based learning is essential for keeping students interested and better prepared for their careers.

In a recent survey by the World Economic Forum, 85 million jobs may be displaced by 2025 due to changes in technology. However, it’s expected that 97 million new roles will emerge, especially in AI and data-oriented fields. This makes initiatives like the IndiaAI Data Lab even more timely and critical.

Chandigarh University has also introduced MCA and BCA programs focused on Data Science. Students will earn Intel Certifications every semester, enhancing their readiness for the job market. The university’s collaborative summer program last year attracted over 2,000 students, showcasing the strong interest in AI education.

Chandigarh University is recognized for its academic excellence, holding an A+ rating from NAAC and offering a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs. As industries increasingly turn to AI and data science, the IndiaAI Data Lab positions Chandigarh University as a leader in this educational shift.
