Channing Tatum’s venture, Free Association Live (FA Live), just raised $45 million to expand its popular “Magic Mike Live” shows globally. This theatrical experience features talented male dancers and is based on Tatum’s movie franchise.
The funding came from a mix of debt and equity and includes investments from notable figures like Jeff Bewkes and Kevin Tsujihara. Their support shines a light on the growing trend in experiential entertainment. As Tujihara mentioned, there’s a shift towards immersive experiences over material goods. Tatum’s live shows have thrived, drawing over 2 million attendees from more than 70 countries since launching in 2017.
Currently, “Magic Mike Live” has successful runs in London and Las Vegas, with future shows planned for New York and Australia. A multi-city tour across Asia and Europe is also in the works. The pre-sales for New York have been strong, indicating high demand for more performances.
FA Live’s CEO, Peter Kiernan, emphasized the unique connection “Magic Mike Live” has with audiences. This significant investment will not only help expand the brand but also inspire new creative projects in live entertainment.
