Lubbock Christian University Baseball Schedule Announcement
Lubbock Christian University’s Head Baseball Coach, Nathan Blackwood, has released the 2026 schedule, kicking off on January 30. The season starts with an exciting series against the defending South Central Region Champion, UT Tyler, before the team plays their home opener against Sul Ross on February 6.
This year’s schedule is a bit different. All 50 games will be against conference opponents due to the addition of UT Dallas to the league. That means no non-conference matchups this time. The season will feature two three-game series followed by 11 four-game series against the other teams in the Lone Star Conference. This setup gives the team an equal split of 25 home and 25 away games.
After facing Sul Ross, Lubbock Christian will also host St. Mary’s, UT Dallas, Texas A&M International, St. Edward’s, Eastern New Mexico, and UT Permian Basin. They will play these games at the newly renovated Hays Field, which is set to be finished just in time for the season. The upgrades, including state-of-the-art field turf, professional dugouts, and a new padded backstop, promise a better experience for players and fans alike.
On the road, the team will compete against Oklahoma Christian, Angelo State, Texas A&M-Kingsville, West Texas A&M, and Cameron.
Towards the end of the season, the top seven teams in the Lone Star Conference will compete in the postseason. The highest-seeded team will receive a bye in the first round, while the second, third, and fourth seeds will host best-of-three series. The winners then progress to a double-elimination championship round held by the top seed from May 8-10.
Winning the LSC Tournament offers a direct path to the NCAA Tournament, along with other contenders. The South Central Regional will take place from May 14-17, leading into the Super Regional on May 22-23. The ultimate winner will move on to the Division II World Series in Cary, North Carolina.
Lubbock Christian is coming off a solid 2025 season, finishing with a record of 34-23, third in the Lone Star Conference, and making their third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. This momentum sets the team up for an exciting 2026 season.
