Corrin enjoys embodying the flamboyant persona of a 1940s actress, and she adds that this season’s stories feel particularly striking in light of current events.
The topic of AI remains hotly debated, especially in the entertainment industry. “It’s scary, but it’s also a big conversation. We need to find the right balance,” Corrin remarks about its impact on creativity. Brooker agrees, pointing out that while AI can enhance creativity, it loses value if it replaces human artistry.
This season also revisits one of Brooker’s favorite themes: gaming. The episode "Plaything" brings back characters from the interactive film Bandersnatch. Scottish actor Lewis Gribben plays a loner journalist obsessed with a particular game, reflecting the blurry line between gaming and reality—a theme that resonates today as gaming continues to rise in popularity. In 2023, the global gaming market is expected to reach $221 billion, making it an important cultural touchstone.
Lastly, actor Josh Finan expresses confidence about the future of acting, feeling secure in the uniqueness of human performances. "What we do is too special to be replaced," he states.
