Charlie McAvoy of the Bruins and Team USA Admitted to Massachusetts General Hospital: What It Means for His Season

Other players are also feeling the strain. Matthew Tkachuk is out with a lower body issue, and Auston Matthews is sidelined due to soreness. Additionally, Brady Tkachuk left the game early after a crash with the net post, leaving the team with only ten forwards.

Coach Sullivan mentioned that Brady Tkachuk was held out as a precaution and hopes some injured players will return for the championship. Plans are in place if some players can’t come back.

“Charlie is now out with an upper-body injury. Austin is a bit banged up,” Sullivan said. “We should have more updates soon.”

Despite these challenges, the Americans played with determination. They leaned on shorter shifts and various line combinations to keep pace with the Swedes, helped by a lively crowd supporting them.

“Losing a player that early is tough,” Sullivan noted. “We tried to manage the ice time so everyone could contribute, but injuries happen.” He praised his team for their effort.
