Lakeland, FL – Augusta University faced a tough match against No. 25 Lubbock Christian, losing 96-69 in their final game of the Small College Basketball Hall of Fame Classic. The Jaguars are now 0-2 for the season, while the Chaps improve to 2-0.
Freshman Charlie McBeath stood out again, scoring 19 points and shooting 8 for 14. He also made three of seven from beyond the arc. Tobias Prall contributed as well, finishing with 10 points.
Early in the game, Augusta kept pace with Lubbock Christian. For the first seven minutes, McBeath, Elias Palsson, and Prall scored effectively. However, after leading by just one point, the Jaguars couldn’t maintain momentum. Lubbock Christian went on a scoring run, ending the half with a significant lead of 59-33, thanks to their impressive 64% shooting.
In the second half, the Jaguars struggled to close the gap. Lubbock Christian shot 59% overall, compared to Augusta’s 41%. On the boards, the Chaps dominated, out-rebounding the Jaguars 42-28. Luis Nonfon led Augusta with eight rebounds, and Daniel Daramola added four.
Augusta will return to the court on November 14-15 for the 45 Second Classic, facing Mount Olive in their next game.
