CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Exciting times for the Austin Peay State University women’s basketball team! For the first time ever, they’ll compete for the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament Championship against Jacksonville on Monday at 5 p.m. at Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena.
Austin Peay (19-12) made it to the finals by beating Stetson 68-52 in the semifinals. Mya Williams led the way with 12 points, hitting four consecutive three-pointers that helped the Govs extend their lead late in the game.
This season, Anovia Sheals has been a standout, averaging 14.2 points per game, while Lameria Thomas leads the team in rebounds at 6.7 per game.
