Chicago Fire FC Transfers Brian Gutiérrez to Guadalajara
Chicago Fire FC has officially transferred Brian Gutiérrez, a talented midfielder and Chicago native, to the Liga MX team Club Deportivo Guadalajara. This deal includes a significant transfer fee and assures the Fire a percentage of any future transfer fees if Gutiérrez is sold again.

Gutiérrez grew up in Chicago’s West Lawn neighborhood and started his journey with the Fire at just 16 years old. He made his MLS debut in August 2020 and has since played 164 matches, scoring 21 goals and assisting 25 times. His time as a Homegrown Player is notable; he has played more minutes than all but one other player in the club’s history.
Reflecting on his time with the team, Gutiérrez expressed gratitude: “It has been a privilege to play for my hometown Club and represent all the kids who grew up playing in Chicago.” He thanked his family, coaches, teammates, and fans for their unwavering support.
Before entering the professional realm, Gutiérrez made a mark in the Fire Academy, playing 79 matches and contributing 28 goals and 39 assists. He also took part in U.S. Men’s National Team play in January 2025, including two starts in international matches.
