Chick-fil-A Contributes $75K to Combat Hunger: Support for Atlanta Community Food Bank

LaGRANGE, Ga. – Chick-fil-A is kicking off the opening of three new restaurants in metro Atlanta with a charitable twist. They’re donating $75,000 to Feeding America to support the Atlanta Community Food Bank in the fight against hunger.

This generous gift could provide around 300,000 meals for those in need in metro Atlanta and North Georgia. Currently, more than 715,000 people in this area face food insecurity, as highlighted by the food bank.

Chick-fil-A has a history of supporting local hunger relief. This year alone, they have given $125,000 to Feeding America, which includes an earlier $50,000 donation related to two other local restaurant openings.

What do local leaders think about this effort? Matt Rhodes, the Owner-Operator of the new Braves Avenue location, shared, “Supporting local hunger relief is deeply important to us — when our neighbors are fed, our whole community grows stronger. We’re proud to contribute to such an essential local effort.”

The new restaurants are located at:

• 3234 Peachtree Road NE, Buckhead (Peachtree & Piedmont), operated by Collin Kutz
• 881 Harbins Road, Dacula (South Dacula), operated by Kolby Shepherd
• 2465 Buford Drive, Lawrenceville (Braves Avenue), operated by Matt Rhodes

Each restaurant will also take part in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table® program. This initiative allows them to donate surplus food to local organizations. In just the first quarter of 2025, Atlanta-area Chick-fil-A locations have already provided over 163,000 meals through this program.

These contributions are vital in a time when food insecurity rates are rising. Recent data shows that food insecurity affects nearly 10% of households in the U.S., making efforts like these even more crucial.
