Christina Fulton Sues Nicolas Cage Over Son’s Alleged Assault: What You Need to Know

Nicolas Cage’s ex-girlfriend, Christina Fulton, is taking legal action against him and their son, Weston Cage. She claims she suffered serious injuries in a fight last year. Fulton alleges that Weston, a professional fighter weighing about 300 pounds, attacked her unexpectedly.

In her lawsuit, Fulton, who is 57, is accusing Weston of assault and battery. She also blames Nicolas Cage, 61, for negligence, saying he didn’t stop his son’s behavior. She is seeking damages for the physical and emotional harm she claims to have endured from this alleged attack.

The situation has escalated since Weston was arrested last June on two felony counts related to assaulting his mother and another person. He has pleaded not guilty to these charges.

Fulton states that she went to visit Weston after receiving urgent messages from his friends. Upon her arrival, she says he attacked her in a fit of rage, resulting in a concussion, bruises, and other serious injuries. She claims this experience has left her with lasting trauma.

Fulton accuses Cage of being aware of Weston’s history, which includes mental health issues and prior violent incidents. She believes he has enabled Weston by providing financial support, including buying him an apartment and bailing him out of jail.

Cage’s attorney has labeled the lawsuit as “frivolous,” arguing that Weston is an adult and Cage cannot control his actions. They assert that the suit seems like a money grab and point out that Fulton has a history of legal disputes with family members.

Fulton’s lawyer acknowledges that while parents are usually not held accountable for their adult children’s actions, the law can hold them responsible if those children cannot effectively care for themselves due to mental disabilities. He views this as a unique case due to Weston’s violent history and claims that Cage has not intervened effectively.

This isn’t the first time Fulton has taken legal action. She previously sued Cage in 2009 over financial issues, alleging he owed her $13 million and didn’t fulfill a promise to buy her a home. That case was settled in 2011.

Weston’s legal troubles date back several years. In 2011, he and his then-wife faced felony domestic violence charges. In 2017, he was charged with driving under the influence and hit-and-run, for which he received probation and attended a recovery program.
