NASCAR driver Christopher Bell pulled off an exciting overtime victory at the Ambetter Health 400 held at Atlanta Motor Speedway on Sunday. This win marked Bell’s 10th in his NASCAR Cup Series career.
Starting from 32nd place, Bell managed to work his way to the front by the end of the race. As the race neared its finish, things heated up during a green-white-checkered restart. In a fierce battle with Kyle Larson and Carson Hocevar, Bell celebrated a thrilling win as a multi-car crash brought out the caution flag on the last lap.
“That right there is what you dream of,” Bell said as he got out of his car, clearly thrilled. “Throughout the beginning of the day, we were just stuck way in the back. But that last half of the race we were at our best.”
After the final results were reviewed, Hocevar took second place, with Larson finishing third. The pole winner, Ryan Blaney, grabbed fourth position, while Ricky Stenhouse Jr. rounded out the top five. Blaney had his share of challenges, spinning out but managing to stay in the race after fresh tires were put on his car.
The race was quite eventful, featuring 50 lead changes. Bell stayed out of the lead until the very end. “This place is just bonkers,” he remarked. “Every time we come here, it gets wilder and wilder, and I never in my wildest dreams would have thought I would have won a superspeedway race.”
This race was also significant for Hocevar, who achieved his best career finish in the NASCAR Cup Series. However, his aggressive driving style stirred some mixed feelings among other drivers. “There is some stuff I have to learn and clean up a little bit, but I feel like we put ourselves in the perfect opportunity to win the race,” he reflected.
Things got tense on lap 258 when Austin Cindric crashed into the wall after being squeezed by Larson. He then collided with Daytona 500 winner William Byron. This incident led to the caution that initiated the overtime period.
Cindric had a solid day, leading 47 laps and placing well in both stages, finishing second in Stage 1 and ninth in Stage 2. Byron also had a strong performance, with top finishes in both segments.

However, not all was smooth sailing. A multi-car crash involving Chase Elliott brought out a late caution flag, setting the stage for the chaos that followed.
In the opening stage, Josh Berry took the win, highlighting the strong performance of Ford drivers. Cindric, Blaney, and Logano demonstrated their skills early on, with Cindric finishing second in Stage 1. This race was both thrilling and full of surprises, leaving fans eager for the next event.
