Supreme Court intervention

Earlier on sixth and eighth December, farmers had tried to cross the border, however Ambala police didn’t permit them to cross the Ghaggar bridge. The police stated that the farmers didn’t have permission to go forward, on account of which there was a conflict between the police and the farmers.

The police also fired tear shells at the farmers. Farmers have been tenting at the Shambhu and Khanauri borders between Punjab and Haryana since February 13. This protest is being organized below the banner of United Kisan Morcha and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha.
