Clemson University Unveils Exciting Update on New Six-Story Parking Deck Project

Exciting changes are coming to Clemson University! Construction is set to begin on a new parking deck in the C-2 lot, located at the busy intersection of Williamson Road and Perimeter Road. Students, faculty, and visitors will soon see construction fences going up, starting May 5, just in time for graduation festivities.

This parking deck will be the first of its kind on campus, featuring six stories and space for about 1,200 vehicles. Choosing a central location near the Nieri Family Alumni and Visitors Center makes it easy for everyone to access. It will serve students, staff, alumni, and even prospective students visiting the campus.

• There will be two vehicle entrances on the first and fourth levels.
• Accessible pedestrian entrances will be available on every level, with a pedestrian bridge on the fifth level to improve safety and convenience.
• Two transit hubs will be located nearby for easy transport connections.
• Tiered plazas will seamlessly connect the deck to the surrounding area.

Here’s the timeline for the project:

• May 5, 2025: Construction fences will be erected.
• Fall 2026: Foundations for the pedestrian bridge are scheduled to begin. Construction of the bridge will occur during Winter Break 2026.
• Fall 2027: The garage and the pedestrian bridge will officially open.

Bus transit will remain unaffected. The existing stops on Nu Street and Williamson Road will still operate, ensuring convenient access to the Purple Route and the Green Route (Campus Connector). These routes connect key areas of the campus, enhancing overall accessibility.
