CM Yogi Celebrates ‘Made in India’ Weapons and Swadeshi Tech at Independence Day: A Tribute to National Strength

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath celebrated India’s 79th Independence Day by honoring the country’s freedom fighters. He raised the national flag at Vidhan Bhawan and shared his vision for a developed India, or “Viksit Bharat,” and a self-reliant Uttar Pradesh, known as “Atmanirbhar Uttar Pradesh.”

He paid respect to key figures like Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel, acknowledging the sacrifices made by many. The CM also recognized the bravery of soldiers protecting the nation and personnel who maintain internal security.

In his speech, CM Adityanath highlighted the success of “Made in India” technology, especially referencing the BrahMos missiles and drones used during the recent “Operation Sindoor.” These advancements, he said, showcase India’s growing capabilities. He emphasized that relying on domestic products benefits local artisans and boosts the economy. He called on citizens to support Swadeshi products for a self-sufficient country.

Further underscoring the importance of responsibility, he remarked that true independence is not merely the absence of restraint but a shared commitment to society and the nation.

The CM also discussed Uttar Pradesh’s progress over the past eight years, stating that the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) has surged from ₹13 lakh crores to ₹32 lakh crores. Per capita income has risen from ₹43,000 to ₹1.2 lakh, reflecting significant economic growth. The state has attracted investment proposals totaling ₹45 lakh crores, with ₹15 lakh crores already implemented.

He announced plans for an international center in Lucknow named after Babasaheb Ambedkar and new scholarships aimed at supporting youth. Over 180 artists performed at the celebration, adding a cultural touch to the event.

This year’s Independence Day was not just a celebration of past victories but also a glimpse into an ambitious future, driven by innovation and strong local support. The spirit of self-reliance seems to resonate with many, especially among the youth, who are eager to contribute to a brighter tomorrow.
