DENVER – The Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing (HCPF) has lifted the suspension on MedRide’s Medicaid patient rides. This news comes from a spokesperson for MedRide.
The suspension originally happened because non-emergency medical transportation providers in Colorado needed to revalidate and credential their operations amid concerns about fraud.
MedRide, the biggest non-emergency medical transport company in Colorado, was temporarily suspended due to a fraud investigation. However, a spokesperson mentioned that while they are still working towards full reinstatement, Medicaid patients can use their services for now.
Recently, MedRide filed an injunction in court to challenge the suspension. When asked if the lifting of the suspension was connected to this legal action, state officials had no immediate comment.
MedRide’s president, Greg Harriman, emphasized that Medicaid patients are the ones suffering the most during this ordeal. He pointed out that many of these patients rely on MedRide to keep up with their health needs. Harriman stated, “Our goal is to resolve this quickly to continue helping those who need us.”
