Francine, a former stray, spent nearly ten years in the garden department, becoming a beloved local figure. But a few months ago, she went missing. Wayne Schneider, a Lowe’s worker and Francine’s main caretaker, felt a sinking feeling. He suspected she might have hopped onto a truck headed to a Lowe’s distribution center in Statesville, North Carolina, about 85 miles away.
Schneider didn’t want to accept that Francine was gone for good. He enlisted help from the distribution center’s managers, Preston Bullock and Taylor Taconet. “Our job is to solve problems,” Taconet shared. “This is a family member we’re searching for.”

Bullock and Taconet were overjoyed. “I could have cried,” Taconet admitted. They quickly arranged for Schneider to drive down to the distribution center. When he picked up Francine and brought her back, it was a heartwarming reunion.
Now, Francine is back to her old routine, roaming the store and charming customers. “It’s great to have her back,” Sida said, capturing the joy of the moment.
