Residents of Hamilton County now have a convenient way to print their vehicle registration decals. New kiosks in Food City stores make this process easier than ever. The first kiosk was launched in Hixson in 2024, and additional locations have opened in Red Bank, Harrison, and Ooltewah.
To use the kiosks, simply scan your renewal postcard or current registration receipt. County Clerk Bill Knowles expressed gratitude to Food City for providing space for these kiosks. He noted that this partnership enhances services, especially for those in northern Hamilton County.
However, these kiosks have limitations. They can’t handle address changes or renewals that are nearing expiration—specifically, renewals within 90 days before or after the due date. License plates also need to be processed in person at the County Clerk’s Office.
Here’s a quick look at renewal costs: it’s $29 if done in person at the County Clerk’s Office or at a Food City kiosk, $34 by mail, and $35 online.
The kiosks are available daily from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., as long as the Food City stores are open.
