GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida’s sophomore pitcher, Cooper Walls, will take the mound against Troy in the Gainesville Regional Final on Monday. This marks his 10th start of the season.
So far, Walls has a 3-2 record with a 6.87 ERA after pitching 36.2 innings. He has allowed 32 runs and struck out 35 batters. In a recent game against No. 5 FSU, he impressed many by throwing 3.1 innings, giving up just one run in a tense 4-3 victory, securing a season sweep over the Seminoles.
“Cooper Walls pitched outstanding,” said Florida coach Kevin O’Sullivan, praising Walls’s performance after the game.

O’Sullivan noted the importance of strategy in using the pitching staff, saying, “We’re going to have to be really strategic in how we use our arms. We may have to bring in several guys to get us through the game.” He added, “We had a significant lead last night, so we’ll rely on a bunch of pitchers to contribute.”
