The Costco food court is famous for its amazing deals. A hot dog for $1.50? An entire pizza for under $10? These prices make a membership feel worth it. Now, there’s buzz around a new menu item: the Combo Calzone.
This calzone is a baked pocket packed with cheese, tomato sauce, pepperoni, sausage, onions, peppers, olives, and mushrooms. It has the same ingredients as the old Combo Pizza, which many fans wanted back. Reactions, however, have been mixed.
Some customers are excited. One said, “It was perfection and a steal for $6.99!” But others are not so thrilled. A user on Instagram even remarked, “Looks like a messy diaper.” Despite the back-and-forth, many who have tried it are loving it.
So far, the Combo Calzone has mostly appeared in Michigan, but it will soon be available at other Costco locations across the U.S. While some miss the Combo Pizza, others appreciate the calzone for its quality. One happy customer noted, “Quality ingredients, cheese and sauce wrapped in beautiful golden dough! What could be better?”
Interestingly, a Costco employee shared that the switch from pizza to calzone was due to concerns about contamination and waste. The calzones are made in a factory and sent frozen, which avoids those issues.
As this new item rolls out, it’s clear that Costco continues to innovate, trying to balance customer cravings and operational efficiency. Keep an eye out for reviews as more people get a taste of this latest offering! For more about Costco and its menu, check out Costco’s Official Page.
