BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Georgia Southern Eagles had a busy third day of bowl week as they readied for their big game on Monday.
The day kicked off with breakfast, followed by a team church service led by chaplain Matt Wise. After that, the Eagles took a practice walk to Protective Stadium, simulating the route they’ll take on game day. They then had their final practice, allowing time for rest and recovery afterward.
In the afternoon, head coach Clay Helton, along with team captains JC French IV and Brendan Harrington, attended a press conference. They answered questions from the media and reflected on their upcoming matchup. “There’s a lot at stake: the bowl trophy, our rivalry with App State, and leaving our mark,” Helton shared.
Following the press conference, the team participated in the JLab Fan Fest Pep Rally. Coach Helton, along with Harrington and Camden Brown, revved up the crowd, supported by the Southern Pride Marching Band and cheer squad, with Terry Harvin hosting.
Later, the players made media appearances on “Hail Southern Live,” where they discussed their season and what lies ahead. Administrators also spoke to fans, adding to the excitement.
The day wrapped up with a team dinner back at the hotel, marking the end of their preparations for the JLab Birmingham Bowl set for December 29, with kickoff at 2 p.m. ET.
