Kelsea Ballerini recently shared her feelings about her past with her song “Penthouse.” This track reflects on her divorce from country singer Morgan Evans and the pain that followed. However, during a concert in Florida, she made it clear that she doesn’t want her fans to have negative feelings toward Evans.
While performing, some audience members yelled, “f—k you Morgan!” Kelsea quickly responded, asking them to stop. “You have to stop that. Seriously,” she said. She emphasized that it’s been three years since their split and that everything is fine now. “I sing this song for you now. It’s not about me anymore,” she added, urging fans to move on.
Kelsea then turned the moment around by encouraging her fans to sing along with her. She walked to the center of the stage and asked, “All right, for everyone else moving forward with their life, will you sing this with me?” This positive spin highlighted her desire to uplift her audience.
Both Kelsea and Morgan have channeled their heartbreak into music. After their breakup, Morgan released a song called “Over for You,” while Kelsea put out her album Rolling Up the Welcome Mat.
Since the divorce, Kelsea has been dating Outer Banks star Chase Stokes, and they’ve been together for about two years now.
In another recent concert, Kelsea showed her compassionate side by reaching out to a young fan who was being bullied at school. The fan, named Jacob, held up a sign that read, “I get bullied at school because I am a boy and love you.” Kelsea took the moment to offer him some heartfelt words of support. “I promise you also the person that’s saying mean things, it’s coming from a place of insecurity,” she reassured him while kneeling to connect with him.
Kelsea’s ability to connect with her fans, whether through her music or personal interactions, continues to shine through in her performances.
